What's the purpose of this website?

This site gives everyone a chance to show off their dancyface. We want to see everyone's dancyface. We want everyone else to see your dancyface. That's why we are encouraging you to send your dancyface pics.

What's A Dancyface?

Definition of key words:

dance (dans, däns), v., 1. to move the feet and body rhythmically esp. to music. 2. to leap, skip, etc., as from exitement. 3. to bob up and down. 4. to perform (a dance). 5. to cause to dance. 6. a pattern of rhythmically bodily motions, usually to music. 7. the art of dancing. 8. a social gathering for dancing. 9. a piece of music suited to dancing

face (fās), n., v., 1. the front part of the head. 2. a look or expression on the face. 3. a grimace: to make a face. 4. impudence; boldness 5. outward appearance. (There's more definitions but you get the picture)

dancyface (dansy'fās), n., 1. the art of making a particular expression on one's face while dancing (This can also be termed D-Face)

 

Use of dancyface in a sentence:

   "That person makes an amusing dancyface while they are dancing"

   "She expressed a dancyface of joy while she was kicking her foot in perfect time to the Cotton-Eyed Joe"

   "He looked around with a bewildered dancyface as he realized that he was the only one on the dance floor"

"The couple finished their last Open Turn, both with satisfied dancyfaces as they knew they were going to win the Ballroom dance competition." (This would be a Dancyface Duo) 

So, exactly what is a dancyface?

         Have you ever looked @ yourself in the mirror while you are dancing? Well you should. You could   see what you need to work on to improve your dancing skills. More importantly, however, not only will you understand how other people see you when you're dancing but you can also see what kind of face you make. You see, when we hit the dance floor and boogie, cut a rug, get down, dance a jig, or just move our body to the sound of music, we all make a particular face. A very unique or distinct face. A wierd and sometimes unusual (or disturbing) face. This is our dancyface.The face we make when we dance. Not just humans can make a dancyface. I'm sure you could say that even animals make dancyfaces, right? It's up to each person as to what could pass for a dancyface. 
 
What a dancyface is not
 
Plain and simple: if you're not dancing, you're not making a dancyface. The end.
 
Your dancyface
 
The thing is, the face, expression or look you make while you're dancing is your face. Your face and noone else can make your face. Nobody can have the same dancyface that you have because there's noone else out there exactly like you. Sure there are others who have similar personalities, share common grounds and goals, who like the same food, but you alone can make your dancyface. Also, there is noone else who is going to get the exact same D-Face photo. You end up with your very own, unique picture.     
So there it is. Now you know what to say to your friends when they ask you to show off your dancyface. If you want to show your dancyface to the world, please send us your BEST dancyface photo and if it's really good, we just might put it on our home page so everyone can see it! If you want, you can even team up with someone else to make a Dancyface Duet, or Dancyface Duo. You might even get a picture with a group of people for a Dancyface Team.

Remember, this is an art, so be sure to  put on your best D-Face. 
How do I upload a photo of my dancyface?

First you have to register on Dancyface.com and start uploading your own images. Next, you will recieve an email confirmation (this is to make sure you're not a robot trying to invade this site). You will need to respond to this confrimation to become a registered Dancyface user. 

How many images can I upload?

Right now, you can upload 5 total images. That means if you already have 5 and you want to add another, you will have to delete 1, then add the new one.

What size photo can I upload?

The maximum size allowed is 1 MB. Anything over this will not be accepted. If your image exceeds 1MB, you can resize it by clicking HERE or HERE

Am I required to upload photos to become a registered Dancyface user?

No you're not required to upload ANY photos. You can just browse the site if you want. But surely you have taken SOME pictures at SOME point in your life with either a regular camera or your phone camera and now is the time to do something with them. Show the world YOUR dancyface.

How do I resize my photo/image?

You can do this using almost any photo editing software, but the quickest way is to use an online service such as resizeimage.org, shrinkpictures.com or resizeyourimage.com. Of course, these are just a few sites among many that allo you to do this for free.

What about my ideas, suggestions, or input for Dancyface.com?
